This study aimed to assess anthropometric and physical fitness characteristics of male elite karate athletes. Our study was carried out on a sample of 19 male Karate Athletes from Colombia (mean age 31.6±8.8 years). Different anthropometric measurements were taken (weight, height, diameters, circumferences, body composition) from which several anthropometric indices were calculated (body mass index, ponderal index, body index adiposity), and the somatotype was then determined. The performance tests carried out were: Astrand-Ryming protocol, vertical jump, anaerobic power and Wingate anaerobic test. Knowledge of the normal dimensions and local anatomy of the internal acoustic canal (IAM) is necessary during evaluation of temporal bone trauma, congenital anomalies, affecting the individual nerves, and some neuro-otologic surgeries. Limited anthropometric and strength data availability pertinent to lower limb disabled individuals (DI) restricts agricultural and allied sector application developments. In such pursuit, anthropometric and strength data pertinent to lower limb disabled individuals (DI) from the state of West Bengal (India) was acquired and analyzed. The aims of this study were to determine various morphometric measurements of auricle, to investigate asymmetry and its relation with handedness in both sexes. The objective of this paper is to establish, validate and test the reproducibility and accuracy of a digital method to measure linear and angular distances in human hard palate of dry skulls. Digital photographs were made in 10 human adult skulls and measurements were made with the aid of AutoCAD software and with a digital caliper in the same skulls by one observer in a blind fashion to compare both methods. The present prospective study was carried out to determine dietary fiber and energy intake and nutritional status of children during the treatment of chronic constipation. Twenty-five patients aged 2 to 12 years with chronic constipation were submitted to clinical evaluation, assessment of dietary patterns, and anthropometry before and after 45 and 90 days of treatment. The treatment of chronic constipation included rectal disimpaction, ingestion of mineral oil and diet therapy. The standardized diet prescribed consisted of regular food without a fiber supplement and met the nutrient requirements according to the recommended daily allowance. The aim of the study was to compare anthropometric and physiological patterns in a sample of 522 Aymara and non-Aymara individuals from Parinacota, Chile (3.700m). After signing voluntary informed consent forms, the residents were separated in two age groups. Groups A: 18 to 35 years, and Group B: 36 to 65 years, by sex and Aymara and non-Aymara ethnicity.
